Coronavirus (COVID-19) Notice
Following Government guidance Old Bidlake Farm is closed for the foreseeable future. We are not currently taking bookings for the 2020 season and will be contacting all those who already have reservations with us. We send our best wishes to all our friends and customers and hope that we will all keep safe and well over these difficult times.
The perfect balance between Camping and Glamping
Old Bidlake Farm is a smallholding situated in West Dorset, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty known as the Marshwood Vale, three miles from the dramatic Jurassic Coast.
Since 2011 we have been offering the chance of sleeping under canvas, close to nature, free from the stresses of modern life.
In 2020, our tenth season, we offer the choice of hiring one of our four furnished bell tents on the meadow field or bringing your own tent or campervan and camping on one of the four spacious pitches in the Orchard. For couples our classic caravan The Bluebird offers a perfect rural escape. Out of peak season there is the opportunity to hire the entire site for your own exclusive use.
At each pitch we provide a wood fired rocket stove and picnic bench. There is a communal field shelter on the main field, with a covered dining area, camping stove and wood fired pizza oven. A one minute stroll through the Orchard leads you to the Barn where you will find a fully equipped kitchen, flushing toilets and electric showers, and the ‘Rainy Day Room,’ a large communal area to socialise and dine together.
Most of all we give you space:- for children to run free, ride bikes or go pony trekking at the riding stables next door and for you to sit back, unwind and just let life take a slower pace for a while.
Many of our campers have returned year after year to Old Bidlake and tell us that our little campsite holds a magical charm that makes it like no other. For us the desire is to ensure you feel welcomed and relaxed throughout your stay with us and we strive to provide everthing we can think of to make that possible, whilst still ensuring the simplicity and beauty of the breathtaking Marshwood Vale takes centre stage.
To preserve the tranquility and special atmosphere of the campsite we have a maximum of forty guests at any time.
Please note that regretfully we are unable to accommodate dogs.
Explore West Dorset and the Jurassic Coast
Don’t worry that the price to pay for this rural idyll will be a scarcity of culture and activity. We are two miles from the vibrant Market Town of Bridport, a hub for art, music and food lovers and just a ten minute drive to the beach.
Great for Families, Couples, Events and Exclusive Hire
Camping at Old Bidlake provides a great base for cycling and walking holidays; a perfect weekend retreat from the rat race; a traditional family summer holiday or a memorable location to gather with friends and loved ones to celebrate a special occasion.
At the heart of our plans for the campsite is the desire to tread lightly on the landscape and our approach is eco-friendly and sustainable.
