The 2021 Season will draw to a close on 20th September.

Thanks so much to everyone who stayed with us this year.

Plans and Bookings for 2022 Season will be posted in January.

Old Bidlake Farm Camping for the 2021 Season

Old Bidlake Farm is a smallholding situated in West Dorset, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty known as the Marshwood Vale, three miles from the dramatic Jurassic Coast.

Since 2011 we have been offering the chance of sleeping under the stars, close to nature, free from the stresses of modern life.

We could never have imagined that our tenth season in 2020 would be cancelled due to a world wide pandemic and so we are now more excited than ever to welcome campers old and new to Old Bidlake in 2021. We are certain that this long awaited time of freedom and relaxation will make for a very special summer and we look forward to sharing it with you.

With everyone’s safety in mind we have made several changes to our offering this year. Our decisions have been based around our Covid Risk Assessment and are to ensure that we are able to adapt quickly to any future changes in circumstances or Government guidance.

As a result we will be offering the four Orchard Pitches and the four Main Field Bell Tent Pitches on a PITCH ONLY basis this year. During the peak season the pitches will be available to hire for set weekend, midweek or full week periods and in non peak season for a minimum two night stay. You may hire any one of these pitches and bring your own tent and camping equipment. Alternatively if you wish to hire a bell tent you may do so from Devon Belles, a local bell tent hire company that we are delighted to be working with this year. Again a bell tent may be hired for any one of the eight pitches, just select your pitch and then hire your bell tent. The Bluebird Caravan will not be available for hire.

At each pitch we will provide a wood fired rocket stove and picnic bench, so that you have an exclusive cooking area, but you will need to bring your own cooking utensils and crockery this year. There will also be the communal field shelter on the main field, with a covered dining area, camping stove. A one minute stroll through the Orchard leads you to the Barn where you will find a fully equipped kitchen, flushing toilets and electric showers, and the ‘Rainy Day Room’. We hope that it will be possible for guests in 2021 to have access to all our usual facilities but we are conscious that this may not be possible or alternatively that they may have to be accessed on a rota basis and we would ask guests to be aware of this when booking. Communal areas will be cleaned several times throughout the day so there will be set times when there will be limited access and we are restricting our arrival days during the peak season to Mondays and Fridays which will allow us to carry out intensive cleaning on a regular basis. We are also adding additional facilities such as extra washing up areas and hand sanitising stations.

Our philosophy from our very first year has been to offer our guests an abundance of space in a glorious natural environment. We hope that people will appreciate the true value of this now more than ever.

Many of our campers have returned year after year to Old Bidlake and tell us that our little campsite holds a magical charm that makes it like no other. For us the desire is to ensure you feel welcomed and relaxed throughout your stay with us and we strive to provide everything we can think of to make that possible, whilst still ensuring the simplicity and beauty of the breathtaking Marshwood Vale takes centre stage.

To preserve the tranquility and special atmosphere of the campsite we have a maximum of forty guests at any time, and there will be further restrictions on exclusive hire bookings in line with Covid regulations.

Please note that regretfully we are unable to accommodate dogs.
