As a small and intimate site, Old Bidlake is the perfect location if you are looking for an exclusive camping venue for up to forty people.
Over the years we have established quite a reputation for whole site bookings with many groups returning to Old Bidlake year after year. Whether it be for a family celebration, a reunion with friends, a meet up for home school families, a venue for a course or retreat, or a base camp for walking and cycling groups, enjoying the privacy and exclusive use of the entire site really adds a unique atmosphere to your event.
Exclusive Hire also allows us to tailor your camping trip to your particular needs and we are happy to assist with arrangements for food and drink deliveries, making contact with local caterers and organising activities such as horse riding and fishing trips.
The camping field provides an enormous flat space perfect for a spot of friendly competition from cricket matches to croquet. Alternatively with its bucolic backdrop it makes a serene space for yoga or meditation. For creative souls the views from Old Bidlake and the surrounding West Dorset countryside present endless subject matter and photographers can practice their night photography techniques by capturing the glorious sunsets and unpolluted star drenched skies.
The barn kitchen offers ample facilities for groups to cook and dine together or better still why not arrange for a local caterer to prepare a feast from the wonderful local produce so abundant in this area.
A door from the barn kitchen leads into an unexpected warm and comfortable inside space with endless possibilities: a large dining area, classroom space, children’s party room or even a pop up cinema!
To maintain the peace and serenity of this beautiful area of the Marshwood Vale and for the sake of our neighbours near and far, night-time noise restrictions still apply to whole site bookings.
Outside peak season we are also able to host non residential events and our outdoor space and facilities can flexibly accommodate birthday parties and christenings, arts and craft courses and outdoor activities and education.
