Open Sesame

There is a fairy-tale feel to Old Bidlake Farm at the moment. The season began with a magically sunny start when we hosted a children’s birthday party for Fifi in the Orchard and with a wave of her Tinkerbell wand she brought the campsite back to life.

The Easter holidays followed with a steady flow of ‘Bring Your Own’ campers and their Bell Tents and VWs enjoying the calm of these early days and like the location from a Grimm Brothers’ Tale we slowly swept away the cobwebs from the campsite around them. One visitor even arrived with a beautiful Lotus Bell Tent, looking to my mind very much like Cinderella’s carriage.

Now that the hens have returned to their enclosure, the kitchen and shower rooms have been given their spring clean and even the WC sheds and field shelter sit proudly in their places on the main field, Old Bidlake Farm awaits in excited anticipation for nothing more than its Bell Tents.

But …… for this year it must wait a little longer. The Bell Tents will be pitched by the late May Bank Holiday but for the rest of May we have decided to open Old Bidlake Farm to all, whatever size or shape of tent, camper or caravan.

So if you have always wondered what makes our campsite so magical, but don’t fancy ‘glamping’ or don’t have your own bell tent to hand, now is the time to find out. Pitches will be limited to ensure that we retain our atmosphere of space and tranquillity so do get in touch via our contacts page to reserve one now. If you quote ‘Magical May’ when booking there is a discounted rate of £25 per night.
